11 O'clock Elmar

Oh the camera is long gone, unfortunately. 🙁

The serial number was in the low 1932 range.
Need to look it up.

The more I compare the two different tab positions, the more I think it's a shame they had to change it when they invented the lowspeed dial.

Interesting; your camera was newer than mine(77xxx), but your lens older (mine is 999xx)... but all still within the 1932 bracket according to the charts...

I'm not sure why the decision to relocate the Inf tab as opposed to modifying the existing tab... or flattening the indicator scale on the slow-speeds knob...

Were there ever any 11 o'clock Summars ?

Or, use an 11 o'clock Elmar 3.5/50mm that has no infinity lock at all.

The rear of the focusing lever is flat. The lever itself is shorter too and clears the slow speeds dial easily. Not that my Leica II has a slow speeds dial at all, actually...😛

This is no original combo. The camera (1932, 71xxx, from the first 1K of Leica IIs) is a European camera, it has 'Auf' and 'Zu' with the bottom plate lock. The lens is in feet so was an export model. This lens started life on a Leica I and was later upgraded to a standardized screw mount lens. I bought it from a US-based member on the forum for USD 200 only IIRC and I am very happy with the lens and camera.
