$12 995 Summilux M 90/1.5 ASPH

There is no way I can focus this on a film body even with the 1.4x magnifier. So I am guessing there will be a M mount digital in the future with a more advanced live view focusing system.

It'll probably only be useable on a camera with LiveView, i.e. M10 / M240. I have enough challenges with my 90/f2 getting the focus spot-on with the rangefinder when close in and fully open, that I imagine it'll be almost impossible to do it with this lens.

+ how big portion of viewfinder that big lens is going to block. even 1/3 perhaps?

Yes, there's a lot to be said for the SLR's of this world but perhaps I shouldn't mention that here. Best to wait and see if a version with the 3 cam R mount appears...

I wonder what drove Leica to make this lens. Is there really that big of a demand for 90mm lenses for M-mounts? Most M users I know are shooting with 28-50mm lenses. Why not make something fast on the wide end? 28/35 nocti?

On the fence about this one.
