Hmm... does anyone know what the going price is for an older version of this lens is? I know the new M-mount version is a bit pricey for me but I'm just curious.
Thanks,
Dave

yup.
I think photovillage has a used one for sale for $550. BUT if you buy it there, you might be able to get the filter adapter cheap cheap.

first frame- I couldn't resist.
yeah, that's my room. since that photograph was taken, some junk was moved around, I got St.Vincent's album ACTOR, I put another camera on the floor, and I got a huge stack of LIFE photography books from a family friend. AWESOMENESS.

Here are some taken a few weeks ago in Belgium:
All on M9, was struggling between the 15mm and the 12mm, speed was not the issue, I was only afraid that the the 12mm was going to be too extreme, but in the end I convinced myself that I needed something out of the ordinary, just to give myself some inspiration from time to time, so ended up with the 12mm, haven't regretted it for a single moment!

Nice work!
I have the 15 and always wanted to add the 12mm.

Great pictures! I love this lens, so much so that I barely waited a day before going out and buying another one after my first copy was destroyed during the Sandy fun in NYC last year.

Paris, June 2012. Heliar 12f5.6 on a Nikon F. There was a small series of these lenses (and also 15f4.5) made to be used on Nikon F's with mirror lock up. There was also a "Prism finder" looking thing that had the slot for the finder. I have one F with a rather scruffy mirror on it - so that one is dedicated to the F mount 12/15's.

The three versions of the Heliar 12 mm f5.6. I have had 12's since they came out - the first one in 2002. The new compact finder is very good, less fragile than the big finder, which when dropped, operated according to the buttered sandwich law - ended up on the front element and usually cracked it.
The 12 mm is not an easy lens to get along with - you really have to use it to understand it.It is wide - really, really wide - but when it works there is nothing like it!
