I've come into possesion of a 135mm LTM lens. Primarily, I'll be using it on my Bessa-T which means I'll need an accessory viewfinder, but I'm having a helluva time tracking one down. Anyone know where I can track one down? I'd prefer a standalone viewfinder versus a turret finder, but I go that route if it's the most economical.

Captainslack, today is your lucky day! I happen to have a 135 finder which I don't need, and since it was given to me, I'll pass it along for free to you. Please PM your mailing address. 🙂

I've come into possesion of 10 gallons of gas. Primarily, I'll be using it on foto-tours which means I'll need a Porsche, but I'm having a helluva time tracking one down. Anyone know where I can track one down? I'd prefer a 911 versus a 927, but I go that route if it's the most economical.

Caution regarding 135mm auxiliary viewfinders

The 135mm view is very critical of finder alignment for anything closer than infinity, and just a slight mis-alignment of the finder in the shoe on top of the camera can result in drastic mis-cropping on the negative. I caution you to experiment with a few test shots to get a feel of how the view through the finder differs from what is recorded on the negative.

The longer the focal length of the lens, the more parallex error there will be.

Ideally, one would use a camera body with built-in parallex compensating bright-frame for 135mm.

Using an external 135mm finder is "do-able", focus with the RF then shifting to the viewer is a pain.

Unfortunately, that's standard operating procedure for the Bessa-T.

Frank, you're my hero!!! I'll PM you right now! 😀

Oh yeah. I forgot. But Hey, you never know if the FOV of the RF alone covers the 135! The Canon L1 and Vt on the "RF" setting covers the 135 perfectly, and they still made a brightline finder for it!

Frank, is that the 135mm Torpedo Finder that made its way via Joe?

From what I read about the T on CameraQuest, the VOF of the RF patch is equivalent to a 300mm lens. Way to long for what I need!

That is a long RF base! The longest RF coupled lens that I know of is the 200mm F4.5 Komura. You can use just the RF patch of the Canon L1 and Vt to get a bead on it.

Brian, it is a Canon finder. It has both the "tippy" featurefor use on certain Canon RF cameras, and a distance dial on the back. I received it free from Stuart a while back and am willing to pass it along.
