for those who went from the tiny perfect 15 mm ltm version to the newer m mount version...

how has the transition been?
any problems or concerns or seemless?

my guess is that the main difference, the size difference, would be the biggest impact.
and i would also guess than many are not focussing with it but shooting like they did with the old version.

comments?

Size is not much bigger. It feels much better(more solid) than the older ltm and the rf couple is very useful. So far, no regret.

The M version is a bit bigger, but the build quality is way better and the lens is really nice to use; great tab, smooth focusing action, and the aperture ring clicks properly with good detents. I upgraded for the 52mm filters (I use Nikon lenses too) but I have used the focusing on it. Hasn't seemed to make much difference though. When the new all-metal 15mm VF comes out I'm going to get one of those then I'll be all set.

Have both old and new lens. Purchased the new for better build. However, will keep the old-use it most of the time- as I use a pol. filter with my RD-1. If someone can tell me how to attach a pol. filter on the new one, I will sell the old one.

I started with the new, and experimented with various codings WATE, etc. but then went back to the ltm version for small size (30% smaller), closer focus (.3m vs .5m), and not wanting any coding with this lens and the M8. It is about 30% bigger and I'm not sure filters on the M version is a good idea. If you look at the surface of the 15, when you apply a flat filter to that surface, you are optimizing the ability to flare, plus most filters will probably contact the front element.

The ltm version is still coupled, but setting at 1 or 2m or even infinity works well.
