Interesting that the contacts still worked. I think it was an SD-card. With a CF card I assume the small internal contacts would be corroded and not usable anymore.

I once put some color film in tap water after a fire to try and see if the marks left by the tissue sleeve would disappear. I forgot about it for a little over a week. The dyes disappeared. I don't remember about the tissue marks.

Quite a story above. I also thought it amazing that the contacts didn't corrode, but perhaps since the camera apparntly had some boyancy, they were kept from the salt water.
