I was handed a Olympus 35 RC 2 weeks ago and told, make it work and use it!
I took the bad boy 625 battery which moves from 35SP, then to Pen FT and now to the RC.
The meter came to life and the shutter seems to work fine.
I bought a couple of filters from Tim Rice in Berkley- a great source for filters.
I then replaced the seals in 4 cameras!! Thought I would get the agony over all at once and after the first the others come easier.
Yesterday I thought about a lens cap and a sun shade which are hard to find in 43.5mm. I then took the advice of a step up ring to 46mm.
However, I waited until lunch and found that the lens cap from my Pen FT is a great fit! As is the the lens shade which can be reversed for traveling and storage.
Lets hear it for interchangeable parts!
Can't wait to see my developed film!

Don't forget bits from the cheaper Oly Trip, like lens cap and soft case.

Waiting on Maitani
I haven't used either of the RC or Trip in a long time. I'm such a bad owner.

I went with the step ring since I already have a full set of 46mm accessories, and they fit quite well on the RC. No problem with vignetting from the vented hood I use. Waiting to see those photos, zorkiiglaza.

Lets not talk about ignored cameras which set there unused for months and years at a time. My Olympus Pen FT ( a gift from my father-in-law) sat in a box for at least 15 years before I picked it up and put a battery in it. Too bad I didn't do that a few years earlier and I would have the 25mm lens now- before the prices have gone out of sight!.
The RC seems like a toy next to the 35 SP. I will run it through its paces sand see if it passes muster for a 5 month trip to Central Asia! It may be easier than using my Rollei 35S.

If I had been using my Mamiya C33 more I would have a set of 46mm. But I opted for the step up 46 to 52mm. I can't believe this weather we are having here in Central Virginia.

Only seen snow on the ground here in the valley once so far. A couple of times the mountains got a coating, but it didn't last long. But then I'm not killing myself shoveling 18 inches of the stuff, like last year.
