2 Kiev 4am's and lens decisions

Thanks for the tips. I bought mine and had CLA done before delivery. I've shots tons of rolls of B&W through them. I have the Helios-103 53mm on both. Those are the only two lenses I have. I'll definitely test the lenses when they arrive though. I'll run a roll through with each lens and get to know it that way while still at home.

I found some info on film that may be helpful to some other new users re: film and travel here:

I also found some interesting information on finder accessories here:

So, it looks like I made a good choice on finders after all. The Helios does not get good marks - on that site anyway. Let my try the horrid looking turret and then decide if I can stand it bulk. It should arrive in a few days. If I can't stand it, I'll send above poster a message.

Thanks again!

ps. The D-SLR kit is not light at all for me. I will weigh both when my extra lenses arrive but cannot imagine that the Range Funders weigh anywhere near what the D-SLR weighs. You've got me curious now though.

I'm a romantic and using such a unique camera brings me a sense of real pleasure and a sense of accomplishment when my prints come out good. I admit I have a lot to learn about this style of photography; I'm looking forward to the process. It's become a fascinating life experience and a fun way to document life. The price was right too!
