2 pack of Ilford HP5 for $3.99 @ B&H

So far all the deals have only been on the 2-roll packs. Maybe Ilford is phasing this particular packaging out.

Rather than thinking that Ilford is phasing out this film. They might be buying their share back into the market.
The mayor cost for products like this is not the product it self but the marketing and distribution. By creating a deal like this there will be a lot more photographers using this film. As we can see in this and the other tread about this very deal it already has motivated to give HP5 Plus a try. Either as a new or returning user. Even those who did not think this film is worth much have been giving it a new try. Given the fact that this film is so cheap manny will be more creative and try different ways to develop this film and might find a good use for it. etc etc.

So fat the plot works :)

Excellent point. Compound that concept with additional exposure (punny) on flikr and elsewhere online of folks sharing all those new HP5 experiences... This is an excellent marketing technique. I only hope they follow with a deal on 120 size :)

Are these short dated or fresh rolls? I prefer Neopan which is normally only $2ish a roll, sometimes $3, but it's great to see good deals like this.

The HP5+ 2-packs @ Freestyle expire in 2014, if that's any indication.

B&H says "This is a new item. It is not available yet. We have no arrival date at this time."

Add this tidbit into the news in the "Film is Cool" thread and put them together. Ilford has increased their orders without actually selling more film.

Doncha just love corporations?

Kinda sucks since they get to make interest on your money even before you get the product. It seems that they don't even have any idea when they will get it in stock.

It doesn't look like you can actually send them any money - the only option is "Notify When in Stock".

It's all good :) my order went may 11. The email confirmation said it would arrive in 7-14 days. I bet it's here by mid June ;)

If it's hurting a bit too much, just make yourself feel better that in the country where HP5+ is made, Harman/Ilford are happy to not offer this special offer, and through their website charge more for a designated 10 pack than buying 10 individual boxes of 36exp HP5+....

Even with sales tax taken into account I remain baffled at how in the UK Ilford film is more expensive in the UK with 20% VAT compared to the USA where the highest rate of sales tax I can find is 10.75% (please correct me if wrong but I believe some areas of California are the most expensive as regards this tax.)

In other words, it's cheaper to ship it across to America (a few thousand miles) than it is to bung it on a truck and drive it down from Cheshire (a hundred or so miles from a place where I buy it online, who incidentally are cheaper than going direct to Harman at www.harmanexpress.com)

So it's not all bad if you've ordered from B&H and not got your order yet.

Hate to call them out on this but the answers I have received so far have been very unsatisfactory, feels a bit like you're treated as a mug rather than a sensible thoughtful human being.

Maybe my accent gives them the idea I'm some muppet from stereotypical-Essex...

If they didn't want to charge me $60 for shipping and then tax on top of $47 (for one pack!!) I may consider buy a couple of hundred.

This is the case with products from all over the world. Americans refuse to pay premium prices and therefore this is the CHEAPEST place to buy most items in the world. Often cheap than the item's home country. This is certainly true with all Japanese camera items, etc.
