I found this a little late but it seems like people are still talking about cheap film. This contradicts the article I read a while back in silvershotz talking about how silver prices are sky rocketing and therefore making the film industry more expensive. Makes you wonder what is to come with these extremely low prices. At the local cvs it's $8 for one roll of tri-x

Why can't we get HP5 for that price in the UK?

We don't seem to be able to get it
even after we've paid for it.

This is an update on HP5 Plus that I received on last Thursday
from B&H.
We are sorry to inform you that the ILFORD HP5 PLUS 135-36 (2 PACK) is still on back order by the manufacturer with no estimated time of delivery. As soon as we receive it from the manufacturer, we will promptly ship it to you and you will receive an email with a tracking number at that time. We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience.
That's very unusual for B&H. Generally, they won't let you order something that's not in stock. There's a (rare) screwup here.

Maybe they're dropping the price to get rid of it so they can release a new film? I mean, Kodak has the NEW Portra and Ektar. Wouldn't surprise me if Ilford was working on a finer-grain Black and White film that is ideal for scanning, etc.
Too far-fetched?

Most of them in the DC area do - I'm about 20 minutes north in MD and can find it at CVS all the time. That said, I don't buy it there.
