I will definitely be attending. I'll be driving down from Knoxville on Saturday morning. I plan to be in Atlanta by 11, so I can meet everyone for lunch. I've already purchased my High Art Museum ticket. I'll be staying near the museum on Saturday night, so I have all afternoon/evening to hang out.

Yes, it is! And we have more signing up...

For those flying in, the MARTA train is $2 from the airport, whilst a taxi is $30 + tip. Here is the planning tool for using the train:

Basically, grab the train at the airport at $2 (or taxi at $30 + tip) and get off at the Arts Center Station.

Lets get a schedule of when folks are arriving and their transport plans...ie car rental, taxi, train etc.... once we have that we can set a place to meet in the AM around the time the majority of folks will be in town.

Out of towners:
When do you plan to get to Atlanta?
Where will you be staying?
Car rental or other?

My inital thought is to meet in the AM at some sort of restuarant to hang out until the group mostly arrives then head to the park/museum/BBQ and interpertive dance sessions.
 
I will arrive around 11am. I'm staying near the museum. I'll have a personal car if some people need a lift to the BBQ, etc. No dancing is allowed in the car. :)
 
I'm arriving Friday evening by air. Can rent a car, but that dependes on the best place to stay.
Any hotel recommendations keeping in mind locations of the Museum, and the planned BBQ ?
 
Yeah, can someone help us out on lodging that you recommend in the general area of the High Museum? Places you are staying or have stayed before?:)
 
I just looked at the Artmore Hotel, which is real close. They even have High Museum ticket + Hotel packages, and these look less expensive than the others !
 
For the others who know downtown better than I, couldn't Subhash take the MARTA train to the Arts Center Station from the airport and walk to his hotel? It would only cost him $2.00 rather than a rental car. Just a thought, John.
