2012 Wish list

Honestly, what I most want from 2012 is a way to end my incessant GAS and be content with a really well-rounded film and digital collection that I now have.

More than anything, GAS drives me bat crazy. I hate myself for spending more time that I should coveting and researching gear when I could be spending that time making more photographs.

So my wish list for 2012:

-An end to my GAS

Ciao!

More power to you Trevor if you can end GAS. Good to see some of us are trying to get out of it.

I'd done that myself. For over a year I concentrated on shooting with one M camera and one lens, all the while spending nothing on new gears until a few weeks ago.

With only one config available, I started to feel I needed to expand my gear chest a bit to grow as a photographer. Whether that's a self delusion or not remains to be seen, but I'm enjoying the new gears quite a bit and the pent-up desire is gone at least for now.

i hope to get moving on printing, whether i am doing ink jet printing or i am paying a lab to print.
as for stuff, maybe a 24/2.8 or 28/2.8 for my om-1n ...

This IS a wish list, right?:p

Simplify and manage. Film for black and white and digital for color.

For the b&w...a Summilux 80mm R lens on the R4. For color, a digital camera that will do what I want for a change.

Get more paying gigs.

Thinning the herd. Simplify,simplify, simplify.:)

I'd like to cancel my previous wishes and wish for the same as above. :D

Selling more gear, next is my Nikon SLR stuff ...

Buying ? A 35mm Summicron vs3 or 2 ... Then my Summicron kit is complete. :)

With all these folks wanting to clean their cupboards, it's too bad we're all scattered across the globe; imagine the swapmeet RFF could have!

With a flash and a tripod I'll be set. (I already have the X100.)

The only other thing I'd like to do is sell a Fed 2 so that I can repair or replace my Zorki C and shoot some film.

done deal:
low contrast lenses: Canon 28/3.5, Canon 35/3.2, Elmar 50/3.5 uncoated, Elmar 90/4.0 uncoated
high contrast lenses: L-Hexanon 35/2.0, Color-Skopar 50/2.5
Rolleiflex 2.8F

definitely do:
Rolleifix, hood, lotsa Portra400 and Tmax400 in 120
studio lighting set
Black Paint Rapidwinder with IXMOO capability

dream:
full-frame camera with adapter for Pentacon-Six Zeiss lenses to shoot portraits with

Victoria to be born healthy in June, everything else is of less importance.
But to pass the two MA modules I am doing.

Camera wise
Done Deal; Mamiya 645 +55mm 80mm 150mm and a Fuji AX3.
To do fix up a 1905 folder so I can use it 12x9cm I think.
get a wide for my OM1, get more books

Getting to enter the university I want to go to. Tough, as my mark is +- what they ask for and it's not quite sure. I hope...

Photography wise, getting to shoot more; if time allows. Seems to me that 2012 will be more interesting than last year.

And important, to get this damned recession kicked out; but it seems that it likes to be here and won't get better for quite a while.

Camera Equipment:
Seriously: M8 or M9.
Slightly less seriously: Hasselblad SWC.

Professional Goal:
Do a cluster analysis for most of the USA based on cancer incidence rates, air pollution, and water pollution.

I already got my one of the stuff on my 2012 wish list - a 28 asph. Elmarit. Now my next one is more modest, a tripod! I am planning on a different kind of photography this year, so I need it.

I want to pick up a 50 / 1.5 Nokton this year & maybe replace my 25 & 35 Biogons with a 28 Summicron.

Might look into an Elinchrom Ranger Quadra as well, or other portable strobe / battery pack combination. This will depend on a range of factors though, as I'm likely moving to London (from Sydney, Australia) for work mid-way through the year, so the purchase of this will depend on finances & will probably only occur once I'm over there, to save on the shipping.
