2019 roadtrip, Polaroids

Day 10: a sad moment traveling from Fagerness to Bergen.

I recall seeing this grave, and I was sad.
You were brave.
The trip to Bergen was a great trip, I think.

I love the boats from Oslo shot. :)

I'm on day three of another road trip. Day one and two were Leica CL and iPhone 8 Plus days; today is Polaroid SLR670x day. I have two packs of film, one BW one Color, both 600, plus the tripod adapter and tripod. It will be fun to see what comes up as I wander from Los Angeles to San Diego. :D

Well, Polaroid day was mostly a bust. Traffic getting from Hollywood down to San Diego pretty much sucked up the entire day sitting in the car, then I spent all of my time having a blast talking with my friend and his family. Ah well.

I did make three exposures ... two pix of my buddy and I (one for him, of course), and an accidental exposure of him that I find amusing and fun. Used the tripod and made manual exposures with the SLR670x: all worked beautifully. It has to be good enough... :)

Day 9: Traveling toward Bergen on the E16 we overnighted in Fagerness Gol. Together with Raid, Dana and my wife we spent some time in a small forest not far from the hotel. I loved the tall trees.

Nice images.... Brings back memories I have from Norway. Was the Oslo photo from Frogner Park?

I especially like the trees photo.

The photos from Oslo are from the harbor area, thanks for your words, appreciated. Norway is a beautiful country :)

Day 9, Fagerness

We stayed in Fagerness, a village middle way between Oslo and Bergen. I took the photo of this old Volvo 240 as an homage to Helge Skodvin and his beautiful photography book "240 Landscape". Helge lives in Bergen and was so nice to meet me and Raid in order to sign my copy of his book. A special photographer and a real gentleman!

If you are not familiar with Helge's work here is a link to the pages of his website illustrating the book I mentioned.

From the "signature" in the sky you can understand the photo was taken with the old Polaroid sx-70!

Day 9, leaving Oslo: before to leave on a rainy morning we went for a cup of coffee. Grey wet weather, early morning not so much to photograph. I decided anyway to try something with...what was available...light included

Norway get a lot of rain, but this is not a reason to stay away from such a beautiful country.

I am glad that you brought along your Polaroid camera, Robert!

...

Sure, as it is said there is not bad weather, only bad equipment ! More or less!

And bad weather, rain, wind, clouds can be a good opportunity for special photos LOL

Anyway speaking about weather ...

Day 11

med_U3692I1570811057.SEQ.0.jpg

Skjejehamm is a small island north of Bergen connected to the mainland by a bridge. We reached it with a couple of hours of hydrofoil among other small islands. The photo was shot late in the afternoon before leaving. It was cold and windy, but with a good coat we could feel ok!

The thread goes slow, I apologize but much to do to prepare the zine and my next Polaroid exhibiton.

Now we go back to day 12: Bergen, Norway.

In Bergen they say it rains everyday. I think it's true, maybe only a short time...
