What are these going for in mint condition, and what framelines do they bring up (I realize a finder would be most useful...)?

28 frameline. Seen them going for $2000 but I got mine new. Though I have the Frankenfinder from the WATE, just use the entire VF of the M8. Just do not frame too tightly. I have had my share of cropped heads, hands and feet.

I was going to buy one and spent a fairly long time looking at prices. Sometimes, the pre-Aspherical models go for as little as $1400 (little in Leica terms, mind you). Be patient and you'll find your bargain.

I'm referring to the ASPH verion. Are you looking at the pre-ASPH then?

If you are really interested in a fast 21 you might want to look at zeiss's offering too, its a really fantastic lens and a heck of a lot cheaper, at the very least you could use it now, sell it later and change to leica if you so wish
