21mm Color Skopar with lens hood

I would like to seek advice if this lens could improve in flare reduction if I use the LH-1 lens hood (a rather big hood though).

I haven't shot it outside without the hood, so I can't really say. The hood is not pretty and I'd rather do without, but I'll likely keep using it.
