21mm Focal Length

This has been a helpful thread for me....

My main shooter is LTM, Leica III, and my kit presently contains:

35mm f:1.8 Canon

35mm f:3,5 Elmar

50mm f:2 Summicron (collapsible)

90mm f:4 Elmar

135mm f:4,5 Hektor

My shooting is largely "documentary" (where I've been, what I've seen), which can range from Landscapes, trains, antique cars, people (social gatherings), to architecture, interiors, museums (not much camera-subject distance available).

I have been looking for a lens wider than 35mm, but really don't feel I can afford "classic" glass like a 21mm super Angulon or Biogon...

All the C-V super-wides have been very tempting, but which one ?

For a while, I've been leaning towards the 21mm.... it seems to be in the middle of the range I'm trying to fill.

I believe this thread has helped focus my thinking a bit more... I am putting the C-V 21 at the top of my shopping list.

I suppose I could find a 21mm finder and carry that around a bit, and see if that FL is the "missing link"...

Regards,

Luddite Frank

I have not wide nor super-wide lenses for my rangefinders but I have a 21mm f2.8 Canon FD and I think it's not an easy-to-use lens...
A 24mm could be a better "all-round" lens...actually my "street" shots are mainly taken with an old Soligor 24mm (+ Minolta XD7)
