Helen, on my screen there is a very faint banding at the top 1/3rd of the A (street person sleeping). On B I cant see any, but if it is subtle, it might now show there - not enough contrast possibly.

I couldn't stand it anymore and just bought a 21mm SA off of Ebay - can't wait until it arrives!

Never sell lenses. You'll regret it. Every one is different! I've now got a 21/3.4 S.A. but I prefer the pix from my old non-retrofucus 19.3.5 Canon, which was stolen. The Vivitar 20 wasn't as contrasty as the Zeiss Jena Flektagon 20 but both being retrofocus designs they had less light fall-off in the corners. The 19 Canon had a better finder than the Leitz. I lost the Leitz finder years ago ~ loose fit in the shoe. I sold the Canon finder after the lens was stolen. The foot recently broke off of my plastic Bessa 21mm finder. I need to get a new finder. Anybody got a finder in the 19 to 21mm range sitting around feeling lonely and unused?

Helen - thanks for your kind remarks - it was lucky I had the SA with me the day i took the Little Mermaid pic, as 35mm (my standard focal length) would not have been wide enough to get both the statue and the girl in.
This is one example where "zooming with your feet" just wasn't possible.

GOT MY "NEW" 21mm Super Angulon today!
It's black, SN # 2328109, lots of wear on the barrel but the glass and mechanics are very fine.
It came with the original front and rear caps, the 12501 lens shade, and a black Leitz 21mm finder!
I couldn't wait to use it today so I shot a few frames of some vines growing on the walls of one of my kids school. Probably nothing too promising, but who knows...

Yup, it's got the ol' Schneider Glow! The newer designs might have better corner sharpness but the rendition in too clinical for my taste! The S.A. has soul.

i tried the SA 21 and I have to say i liked it a lot. I know I will regret selling it (and I am...) but I need a lens that would work with both classic leica bodies, as well as the ones with meter. So I went with biogon-C 21/4.5. I have yet to try it out.
How are the two compare?
I have been thinking whether I should replace my 21 C Biogon with a 21/3.4 SA
I can't decide!

True. The CV 15 has a more modern clinical look than the S.A. My negative carrier has been filed out since I first bought a 19mm Canon over forty years ago. I also like printing that narrow black line around the image. I have a four bladed Saunders easel for centering the image on the paper.

Watch that step!

Al,
Did`nt you shoot that Canon in some sort of fashion style crossprocessed film a long time ago and you posted photos? ~ Or was that someone else?
Not many people use the 19mm Canon, and I`m not a fan of the wide angle, though some people have told me I should buy at least one, like with a crazy angle almost verging in on a fisheye style and a lens that has a "vintage look" to shoot my PinUp girls in a more radical world then just my standard 50mm........MAYBE a Canon 19mm is the way to go????

I have a 19mm Canon, and it is very similar to the 21mm F3.4 Super Angulon, in the "look" of the photos. I've been using mine quite a bit, it seems to work best up close, at least that is how I use it, most of the time. It's a sweet lens, a bit wider than the 21mm, but not -too- wide. Mine has been living on my motorized M4-2, and sometimes, on M2. It's currently one of my fave lenses, it always goes out, when I am traveling with a "kit".
It's about half the cost of the Leitz 21mm F3.4 .
