21mm Super Angulon

Thank you Vincent !

Actually, I would be happy being able to share photos taken with any of the lenses that I own... just a question of time spent on the job and on photography ... :bang:

This is timely and useful information especially to those who are following the M5 thread and are also interested in the 21SA.

Gabor, it's been some time since you shared photos taken with the 21SA. Really hope to see your work soon!

Lem: nice wide perspective! So many interesting elements in one frame!

I really love this lens. One of the wisest unwise decisions I've made.

Very nice pictures. The SA is a timeless high quality lens.
Thanks lot.

What hood options are there? All I could find are in the $200-500 range ... for a hood! :bang: Are there any cheaper third party hoods?

Not that I've seen. It would need to be a 48mm screw in wide angle hood.

You need the 12501 or the 12501M (for some reason the M version is a lot more expensive). They can sometimes be found for around $100 - but it would almost cheaper to buy another lens with the hood, then sell the lens.

Unfortunately they're all black (and big) too - it would mess with your chrome kit!

I love this lens (still). It is glued onto my M4. I have only had it a few years. Yes, the corners get dark, but under the right conditions it doesn't matter really. Some samples... sorry for spamming with to many images.

No apology necessary, Matt. Those are lovely. Especially like #2 and #4. Well done!

This lens is back on my radar as I've moved to "classic glass". I think it would make a great set with my 35 and 50 summilux pre-asph lenses.

So, post more, everyone! :D

You're not the first to put these three together!

The next question is on what bodies?

While I don't have the 50mm summilux pre asph, it matches very well with the 35.

ha ha Kevin, Michael, I am in the same boat :)
I have the 35 - 50 lux pre and lusting after a 21SA since years!
I would also throw in the nikkor 5cm 1.4 (I have one but I still need to get an S to M adapter to be able to use it). Looking at the nikkor thread at wide aperture I would say it will be a better fit with the lux 35 and 21SA.
ref the body...3x M2 :) (just need to get myself a third one...)

As long as the M2's are all original black paint...(and look like Erik's)

I'm not a 50 person, so I suppose I'd have to go for the 2/85mm Nikkor.
A few year ago there was an auction that included a pair of black paint M2's, one with a SA, the other with the 2/85 Nikkor. They had belonged to a press photographer and had seen some use. Would've been a nice pair, but alas, they went for a small fortune.
