21mm Super Angulon

Here's another one with 1/4 sec exposure and flash:

The technique is a bit tricky because you want to blend the flash with the ambient light. Here is what works for me:

I set the flash to "auto" mode at f/8. Then I read from the exposure meter the corresponding exposure time at f/8 (in that case 1/4 sec). Next, I set the camera to 1/4 sec but the f/stop to 11 instead of 8. That means that I am underexposing both the flash and the ambient light by 1 stop, but the sum of both makes a great exposure.

I have extremely basic flash only so I need to tweak the method a bit, but will try. Thanks for the tips!

SA 21/4 on IIIf (I know this is an M lens thread but this lens is a native M lens happened to be LTM convertible so...), Tri-X, Diafine.

A lens that has been a favourite at times, then not used for a little while. I always come back to it though - here's a few from the last couple of months:

Is that the same guy I took a picture of in Chinatown/SFO? What are the odds?? 😱 The picture was taken with a CV 21mm Color Skopar, though, not a SA 21.

Wow he could well be! We were just at a coffee shop on Clement St (aka 2nd China Town aka China Town for locals) and they were visiting each store one by one.

Really great shot btw!
