Helen, did you get another 21mm SA?! Hopefully so! Your eye and that lens are a perfect pair.
2017 is the year I WILL buy one of my very favorite photos ever, if you'll sell a print to me.
I have a Nikon/Leica M adapter on the way which will allow me to use my 2.1cm O-Nikkor on my Leica and not just my Nikon F2. I love the lens on the Nikon but I also love the viewfinder and really like it with my 50mm f/1.2. Or I'll more frequently be carrying my Leica M4 with 2.1cm Nikkor and my Kodak Retina IIa with 5cm Schneider Xenon. 21mm and 50mm are a killer walkabout pair.

The clouds were moving so incredibly fast ... I only had time to frame one picture, 20 seconds later and the magic was gone!

The end is nigh! Great shot. Also has a nice Gustave Doré feel to it.

Thanks Helen. Believe it or not, I actually played at CBGB's about 17 years ago. Saw a few shows in the early 90's as well.

This is still my favorite lens. Probably about 90% of the pictures I take these days are with the 21 SA and a 35 (formerly a Voigtlander Nokton 1.2 now a pre-ASPH Summilux) and of that 90% the split is probably 60/40 in favor of the Super Angulon. The remaining 10% is mostly either a rigid Summicron or a Dual Range Summicron depending on how close I am (I so wish you could just use the DR throughout its range on a digital M -- if they ever introduce one where that problem is fixed I will start selling spare gear, blood, kidneys, whatever it takes to buy one). The other lenses mostly sit idle. The Super Angulon from yesteday:

That's something I would have loved to experience, NYC in the 80's. O well, born too late. We had our "sleazy" cities in Europe as well, I can tell you that

Bob, cool stuff!
Guy, Big Names! I knew the Goatsnake by name but I am afraid not really my genre...
Thanks both for sharing.
I was into music too some 15-20 years ago but never played in NY
just some local gigs with a couple of punk bands in the late 90s.

So I've been learning how to use the SA21, what an interesting lens. I definitely need to get better at estimating my exposures with this lens but it's going to be fun to learn.

Nice work Abram, good to see it in excellent hands!
The exposures look great, especially the indoor shot. The side benefit of the SA is that it forces you to get better at not relying on the in camera meter...

I've been having a blast with it Michael. I have more to share I just didn't want to inundate you all at once. I have grown to not be very dependent on metering, most of the time I just estimate the lighting based on experience. However San Francisco has a lot more deep shadow to deal with than I'm used to in Southern California so I was a bit off in my estimations. Only a handful of shots were unsalvageable in my opinion, most could be lightened to an acceptable degree (without having to push too far).
Fun fun lens though! Just need to decide if I want to keep the Elmar-M as my 50 or go back to a Summicron 50 to pair with this gem. Somehow and rather unexpectedly 21/50 has become a setup I quite like!
