22 years on RFF

2006. Left for a few years. Also I suspect I rejoined later with a new ID, so maybe two 'identities' here. Not sure. All my old documentation perished in a flood at home, so it's impossible for me to do a paper check on this. Mystery forever...

Now semi-retired from this site. On a long, long, long vacation. Float in and out, now and then. Not that I've run out of ideas and thoughts, but. But.

My latest mentor, sort of, is ko.fe, who has an amazing ability to deflate pompous egos and cut right to the bone.

Time passes, all things change. Old age brings a certain wisdom. But GAS is forever.

Glad to see you back on RFF. You've been away for a few months, and I always enjoy your musings and stories.

@xayraa33 22 years is wild! That's longer than many marriages.

As for me, I've been here almost 15 years as of now, having signed up in March 2011. But I was a lurker since around 2008-2009 when the Leica M8 was the talk of the day, and my thoughts about Leica grew to obsession by the time the M9 was announced.

19 years for me. I remember joining after I discovered rangefinders (Bessa I believe with a Jupiter lens 50mm bought from someone on this forum).

The initial help with the camera was invaluable which then led to all sorts of GAS. 2 M6s, more Bessas, multiple lenses etc.

I've been coming back ever since. It is the only forum I have really stuck with over all this time.

17 years only. It is amazing how much I have learnt here about photography, not just cameras. Some amazing photogrpaphers here. I learnt so much about color negative film and how to get more out of it. On the gear side, the greatest gift was appreciating the non-Leica M mount lenses. I have several: Zeiss and Voigtander. Had I not come here I don't think I would ever have tried a Rolleiflex, or an LTM Leica.
