I read a late interview with Tarkovsky recently. He said at the completion of his first feature fillm, Ivan‘s Childhood, he did not yet know what cinema is. And years later he still was not sure. He found it a mystery.
Still being at it is a huge part of success. I remember realizing with surprise that photography is the one interest I’ve not yet given up. That is not nothing.
