220 Still Available?

Getting back onto the M/F scene, and wondered if there was any B&W 220 film available still?
Any ideas?

I just bought fifteen rolls of very recently expired 220 Tri X and I'm happy as a clam in a mud flat. Can't remember now I either found it on eBay or on here or on photo.net. Just keep an eye out.

There is talk about Efke or someone like that making 220 again, if they can get the machinery. However, there is sooo much more choice if you just shoot 120.

Thanks all, and an apology Araakii too, I took your post the wrong way.
My search is frugality orientated, I have been offered a cheap (very) 220 magazine.
Of course a cheap mag really is just a paper-weight without film.
I'll keep the eyes peeled.

I agree, and there was that same discussion with the seller, we both agreed that while the camera and magazine manufacturer would say it can't be done, practically it possibly/probably can.
Maybe I'll spring the pocket money and try it. Paperweights are handy we all know.

I assisted a photographer last week who shot fresh new portra 400 in 220. her 800 and 160 were 120 roll film.

Well, as promised I gave the 220 mag a preliminary run today.
Dug some old (and I'm talking 1990's) HP5 out of the freezer, it was an old roll from a pack that I use for testing, spacing, focus etc. I wasn't expecting anything flash given the age of the film, and non-importance of the trial I also tried a bit of equally old (perhaps 5 - 6 years) Rodinal that I had left.
Mixed it 1+100, and gave it 20 minutes, instead of the "suggested" 16, temp was +20º.
Film was exposed during the day in a variety of lighting conditions, in and around the garden, again, noting important.
Frame spacing looked OK, but not perfect. Spacing was a bit wider than I expected, and the last two shots were touching, just.
Base fog was "up there" as well with edge fogging too.
Worth a try if nothing else. And another shot perhaps with fresh film and developer.

Some 220 would be nice ... I was using the P67 the other day and ten exposures went awfully quickly!

I've obviously been shooting way too much digital! 😛

The cost for developing and scanning is the same for 120 and 220 film at PrecisioinCamera. It cuts the cost to half.
