Hi, I just bought the 21/4.5 C-Biogon ZM. It didn't come with a lens hood. I already have the 28mm Biogon ZM. Filter size is the same, so I was wondering if I would encounter any problems using the round-type 25/28mm lens hood which I already have, or do I need to buy the square-type dedicated 21mm hood?

I've put this question to Zeiss, but wondered if anyone has experience of doing this - any vignetting problems / blockage?

Thanks

As the FOV for the 21 is wider, you might expect vignetting in the corners when using the 25mm hood.
Just give it a try wide open (if you can call 4.5 wide open 😉) and see if it turns out to be ok for you or not. Nothing to loose.

Give it a try. I periodically use my 21/4.5 without it's square hood and never really had any issues, so if the round hood doesn't work, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I have both hoods, but frankly am not sure, if the 25/28 will vignette. OTOH, you can also use no hood, as this lens is remarkably flare free.

I have tried it on my 21/4.5 and could not find any extra vignetting with the round 25/28 hood. So I never did get the square one, but am always using the round one on the 21.
