28mm Elmarit Asph problem

I have just bought this lens (new). The aperture ring felt fine for a week, but now suddenly there are no click stops, just a continuous turning action. The diaphram still works though. I haven't knocked it. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Send it in for repair under warranty? Do you think that might be an idea?

Demand a new lens, after a week you should not have to settle for a repair. I would be adamant about this.

Thanks John for your advice - I agree. I thought is a very odd problem to suddenly occur like that. I also wondered if anyone else had come across it. I expected some reliablity problems with my M8 electronically, but not this.

It's a product like any other. I've not noticed Leica equipment any more reliable than other camera I've owned. But with a new lens, I'd certainly ask for a replacement.
