28mm for a Minolta CLE?

When I still had the CLE I've tried various 28mm lenses on it, and the best fit was Leica Elmarit ASPH. However, a much superior body is a Bessa R4A, with the added bonus that the light measurement is exact - the minolta tends to underexpose in certain conditions.

Hmm. I sold my R3A and kept both my CLEs because I found them far superior in build, smoothness and tactile quality. Just using the shutter button emphasizes that - a slight touch and the meter turns on. A soft further touch and the shutter fires crisply with a muffled kerchunk sound.
The Bessa is very clanky in comparison.
One thing I really like about the Bessas is that you have to manually select the frame lines. This means that you can use any LTM adapter! Not one specific to the focal length.

Oh, and I use either the CV 28 3.5 or the Elmarit 28 Asph. Both tiny and fantastic. One is a wee bit cheaper than the other.

still no 28 for my beloved CLE... Well, I often use a great pinhole with a 28 FOV in M mount.

You must correct this! The CLE is the best camera ever to use a 28mm lens with!

I'd like a 28 Summicron asph or new Elmarit asph, or a Biogon ZM or a Hexanon.
But would love it to be as small and light as the Orion-15 and priced similarly 😛

On a recent job (I'm a sound recordist) director of photography had a digital Leica hanging from his neck (he never shot it actually) with a 28 Summicron asph. in it. I had my CLE with me and asked if I could take a couple of shots with his 28 so I could have a couple of test shots with that great lens (we were in beautiful landscapes in Lanzarote)
He didn't even answer me back! Can I call him idiot just one time? 😀
