And with all these comments (and photographers) still the 28mm focal length gets no love... I bet I see more 28mm lenses up for sale than any other focal length

ye I rarely see anyone giving love to the 28mm... dunno why, for me its the perfect companion to the 50 and I love the compact size of the elmarit asph...
kinda good for people who love it, great choice of used lenses.. sometimes for a bargain price
might give it a try myself if I see all those pictures around

Get close to the subject if it is not a portrait. If it's a portrait lessen distortion by keeping the subject in the center.

its just a wide angle.. dont think there are any rules how to use it.. I like to try different perspectives. and that little thing hasnt got distortion and only slight falloff so I'm using it like every other lens...
it has become my wide standard pretty much for street, landscape and architecture if the 50 is too narrow. love it for the compact size and often head out just having this one on
it kinda forces you to get a little closer. some use the 35 but I preferred the 28 there
