wonderful photos in terms of composition and execution. but what i like best is that one can actually see new york in the photos. with so many series posted here from various specific 'locales', we get pictures of a wastebasket, a bicycle, a close up of a chair--nice photos, but they could be from anywhere. these convey a sense of place and thats what i look for from a 'city' or 'specific place' series.

Thank you! This was my 4th time in New York and my family and friend wanted to see more pictures of the city. Not just "boring" shoots of close-up people. So i tried to do street photography with more space around it. But they thought it was still to close up!

some are close, but many are more 'reportage' or 'semi archtectural'. its a series after all. so when presented together, a mixture like that can well convey a sense of place. to tell the 'story' of a market with a single photo, one can take a closeup of a woman smelling an apple, or the wider scene of hubbub around that same woman smelling that same apple. my own personal preference of single street scene is the latter. i enjoy context. if posting a 'series' one could obtain context with the closeup included among a group of 'wider' shots. i think thats what youve done here.
