I, for one, would love a 50mm version of the X100s. To me, there is a huge difference between 35mm and 50mm (though I get they can work similarly). Also, 35mm and 50mm models might work just because generally people are into one or the other. rbelyell is probably right though since most either use a zoom or a wide these days in P&S cameras.

maybe a new x-trans sensor superzoom "bridge" compact... X-S1 is (about) 2 years old....😕

I am still hoping one of the three new cameras will be a m43 size xtran or that new sensor technology they are developing w/ panasonic, to keep everything more compact. A 40f2 on a m43 sensor size is really small.. Better yet a csc w/ m43 mount..but that is a dream I doubt would ever happen.

A x100s w/ a 50 or zoom would seem to be the logical evolution for the x100 family.. Since they already have a 28 adapter for the x100, the 50 could just as easily come via adapter as well, btw.

andy do all those mfgs have 35 and 50mm fixed lens cams? we're not talking about lenses right, but fixed lens cams? i'm not saying anything 'bout personal preference for FLs; just business decisions re spacing out your hardware fixed lens camera line, and how that spacing effects the public buying two fixed lens cams of different FLs from the same mfg.

actually, if we look at fuji X history, werent their first three FLs for the Xpro 18, 35 and 60 (27, 52, 90)? a bit more spread out, like the sigma merrills, than putting out a 35 and 50 as your first two.

The X100s with a 50mm-ish conversion lens and the existing 28mm would make for an OUTSTANDING kit. I'd starting saving up immediately! That 28mm lens is superb... doesn't degrade image quality at all.

I like your 24-50-75 but if going that wide on the short end and that short on the long end would it be ok to change the 50 to a 40-45?

Or, if you gotta have a 50 --- a point of view I totally sympathize with --- how about 28-50-90?

that works for me! actually, i'm not a 50 fan at all, so ive no problem ditching it. tbh, give me a 35 and anything from 75-90, and i'm golden. i was just going with the faux tri elmar theme.

seriously though, i personally would love to see some improved version of the faux split image manual focus capability of the x100s incorporated in the next xp iteration.

Funny, this dead shark is my favorite camera right now (and I own the X100s too) ...and is in my top 5 cameras of all time.

it was said jokingly, about the need to always move forward. it is an excellent camera, and a definite candidate for any 'top camera of all time' list. i was hoping our group was a little lighthearted, and that quote might bring a chuckle or two.
