Why should I exchange me CV for a Rokkor ?
because the wetzlar garden gnomes have put some magical "leica glow" powder into the 40mm summicron, which was perfectly copied by those minolta engineers ....

That was leica poetry!
I have a 40mm Rokkor and it renders highlights in black and white in a truely outstanding way. At F2 the bokeh is fantastic with a nice subtle transition that a lot of modern lens have lost with their clinical rendition of out of focus areas.
I have often wondered how close the Rokkor is to the Version 4 summicron?

My 40/1.4 is fast becoming my favorite lens. I am using in on my ZM and makes a nice combo for traveling and family events.
Shot with my 40/1.4 on Neopan 1600.

I need to use the focal 70-80mm to shoot portraits and street photography, but I do with my micro4/3 Lumix GF1 with adapter for Leica M-mount (the conversion is 2x).
I am very interested in these two beautiful lens.
Do you think that can work well on GF1?
Thanks in advance.

I'm to thinking of one of these lenses for my m8.
What framelines does the 40 bring on the m8?
I read the 40mm fits the m8's 35mm framelines better, but does it show them by itself. Or do you have to modify the lens??
