Desperate but not serious
How does it compare to the w-Nikkor 3.5 f1.8?

Would be sad if Gabor is right ... I absolutely want one.
Erik.
Same to me!
I think it will come, as it is still on their Webpages an was to "touch and try" at Photokina last year.

Nobody knows, as the new CV Ultron ist not available yet ...
The Main Advantage of the W-Nikon is the availability - from time to time

I just bought the LTM version (black). I like it . . . a lot . . . but it doesn't look anywhere near as neat as the jewel shown above.
Tom A has been shooting a prototype and says its exceptional.
I'm guessing the new Voigtlander 35/1.7 will be released in the first quarter of 2015, likewise the new Voigtlander 15/4.5 III.
Stephen
Well, half of that guess turned out OK.
Cosina has released no official delivery date for the new Voigtlander 35/1.7. My guess is 2nd quarter - time will tell.

I put in my $100 deposit a while ago, and I continue to wait. I hope it's really killer, because there are some really good deals on 35mm Summicron ASPH and Biogons in the RFF classifieds lately.

Bad news
Why do they annonce and create GAS für users with great new lenses at Photokina in 2014 and cannot deliver more than half a year later?
For me that's marketing at it worst

Sorry for the 'bump' but I'm really eager for some new Ultron news. Hard to get any information at all, and by all accounts it should be with us by now. Any word Stephen? Thanks very much.
I should have an update tomorrow.

Looking forward to the update. This lens is on my short list of lenses to consider when I get back to a place where I can have a film M again. The 35 Ultron and 50 Nokton would make a lovely pair on a chrome M4 or M6TTL.

Thanks heaps - appreciated.
No production date has been set by the factory.
I am guessing late summer or early fall.

Bit of a shame that production seems to have been delayed. It looks a fair bit larger than the LTM version, and I think Tom A said that it has a new lens design that isn't based on the LTM. That's another shame, because when I had one I just loved the way it felt, focused, and rendered.
The problem was that it couldn't be calibrated to my M9 and backfocused by about an inch. Sure, I could have just done the Sonnar trick and leaned back an inch each time I took a shot, but it didn't seem worth it to me. If the new Ultron has that kind of feel and rendering I'll be very happy to pick one up.

That's the reason I'm waiting for the new one; it will be optimized on digital sensors ...

I really dig my LTM version. I want it just a touch sharper and the .9M close focus is a killer on the old version. I can't wait to try the new one.

I got the LTM version a couple of months ago and like it very much. Picked up a Bessa R to go with the lens and I am liking the combo. Hoping the M version is a s big a hit as the the Nokton 50mm f/1.5 has been.

What I saw from tests at Photokina 2014 in Cologne (seems like years ago ...) the new version is absolutely great!

I also bought the LTM, but because of the black on brass construction. Fitting for BP bodies. I wish the new M mounts had done this -I'd have bought them!

From Steve Huff's write up on the 50/1.5 lens:
"I fell in love with the style, the build, the chrome as well as the legend of the original 50 Nokton 1.5, which is a lens I have never even used! So I was pretty excited and had high hopes with this lens. I placed a pre-order through Stephen Gandy at CameraQuest.com and I was able to be one of the 1st to get the lens in my hands just last week. Ever since it has been glued onto my M 240, which is the combo that has taken every shot you see in this review."
Are these M lenses - the 50/1.5 and the 35/1.7 optimised for digital?
