35/1.8 Nikkor on Amedeo M Adapter : Someone Finally Figured It Out

This technician in Korea figured out how to replace the rear rim of the lens with a thinner one that would not interfere with the RF cam of the body. He's first done quite a while ago.

He's also part of the gang that rolled out the Coiro adapter, similar to the Amadeo, but with 0.7 MFD, I have one, good stuff 😀

I think that's from Park-shi (from Gigantoptik):

Link is in Korean, but you can use google translate.

Yep! Park modified a 35mm f/1.8 W-Nikkor and a 21mm f/4.5 Biogon for me to work on the Amedeo M mount adapter. I will post some detailed photos of the lenses when I can. He was wonderful to work with.

Also, what is very cool about the Coiro adapter is not only that it can focus internal mount lenses down to 0.7m, but EXTERNAL mount lenses can be physically modified to go down also to 0.7m from 0.9m, but apparently only with the Coiro adapter and not the Amedeo one. I wonder what the secret is. Last time I checked, the Coiro Nikon adapters were out of stock.

Really hoping in the future for maybe a dedicated Nikon to M adapter that brings up the 35mm frameline on the camera and focuses down to 0.7m. That could possibly be cheaper because it would only be for external mount lenses, but I am no expert. 🙂.

Amedeo told me the LTM Amedeo adapter is much more difficult to make than the M bayonet adapter.

I have the LTM Amedeo, so I can use Nikon and Contax lenses on my Barnacks as well as M.

But when switching lenses on an M body it would be cool to not have to switch LTM adapters at the same time, just take off the 35/2.5 Nikkor and attach the 50/2, and flip a frameline switch!

A friend showed me a modified M-mount switchable for 35 and 50 mm frame line preview. Basically, just a very short part of the bayonet had been cut-off and re-installed using a very thin metal wire making it foldable. But I agree, a frame line switch would be the most elegant and practical solution.
