ap 400, AKA tri-x 400, developed in tmax 1+9. r2m. messing around our new river place. the filter seems to punch up the rendering of the lens with a bit more contrast. that is its job, right? i am a filter newbie ...

Great Paul.

I almost always use yellow on B+W these days. Makes the skies more natural (best seen in your pic #3, IMO). Great for portraits, too, women love it ....

Roland.

thanks, Roland, Pickett.
with the yellow filter, the 35/2.5 seems to have about the same contrast as the naked 50/2.5 protected by a nikon neutral clear filter.
i base that on two rolls of film ... :)

Interesting, Paul. I've always heard that the 35 Skopar is pretty contrasty on it's own, but it seems to benefit from the yellow filter.

Great light on #3.

thanks, tom. it could just be my exposures, considering i run the r2m naked of meter batteries. but it does have - without the filter - a little bit smoother look.
with color film, it is, indeed, plenty contrasty, a match for its 50/2.5 brother.

What filter size fits on the cv 35/2.5? I know I can probably look on my instructions but too lazy to dig the box out of the drawers. I'm new to filters & wonder what other filters would benefit from B&W film.

Yeah, nice shots Paul, although with the 35/2.5 and a yellow filter, I would have expected more contrast. I assume you used a #8 yellow filter (light yellow)?
