Hi glad to have found this forum, some great photos on here.

Recently won an ebay auction for an electro 35 cc but I have been unable to source a manual. Camera will hopefully arrive in the next two days.

Can anyone give me a link to a manual on the web?

If there isnt a manual, could somebody give me a basic run down of how the exposure lights/meter is read?

If there is anything else I should know please do :)

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Scott...

I don't know of a manual for the Electro CC on line, however the Electro line all worked exactly the same way. On this site is a scanned pdf of the manual for the Electro GSN. The CC follows the same basic principle except for a few differences, which I'll explain:

http://www.kyphoto.com/classics/instructionmanuals.html
(Note the user ID and password at the top of the page you must use)

The differences with the CC are:

1. No under/over light on the top plate, only in the viewfinder
2. NO HOTSHOE Plugging a flash into the socket sets the shutter speed at 1/30th
3. Top film speed 400 ASA
4. Top shutter speed 1/250

What the CC does have is a verrry nice 35mm/1.8 lens, a fairly rare and expensive spec.

All Electros operate the same way. Load the film, point at something, press the shutter release button about 1/2 way down, and look for arrows in the viewfinder. This will tell you of there's too much light or not enough, and in which direction to turn the aperture dial.

No light = okay to shoot hand-held, scene not over exposed.

Arrow pointing to the right - overexposed, too much light

Arrow pointing to the left - shutter speed will be too slow for hand-held shots. (You can still shoot, and in fact these cameras will keep the shutters open 10 seconds or longer making them great for certain types of low-light photography)

You basically open or close the aperture by rotating the ring on the lens barrel in the direction of the arrows until there is no warning light and it's okay to shoot.

The CC is a bit of a rarity, one of the great little "street shooters", and a little gem of a camera. Enjoy.

Looking forward to that post. Great little street shooter. I just used mine a week and a half ago when I took my kids and nephews to the Franklin Institute in Philly. Shot some Tri-X in Rodinal 1:50 - verrry nice. I don't scan much or I would post a few.

Enjoy the CC. Glad to be of help. I'll check out those pics. Thanks for the link.

Checked them out on Flickr. Nice stuff. Especially like "Doorway To Covent Garden". What do you think of the camera? Simple to use - eh?

Yeah it really is a great little camera, simple to use and compact. Gets the exposure just right as well.
Had a few occasions where I forgot to focus  used to my AF cameras...All good fun though.
