Its funny to read about those "huge" 52 mm filters. 52 mm is the smallest of my filters on my SLRS, with several needing 77 and one
Compared to 36mm and 39mm? Yes, they are. It's all relative.

Chrish: yikes. Well, that *could* be remedied with an auxiliary viewfinder, I guess.

I see the point of the viewfinder intrusion issue, especially with the photograph provided.

That being said, I see it being on my Bessa T with an external finder, and as long as it doesn't actually cover the rangefinder windows, I should be set (taking into account the added parallax error of the external finder).

the lens takes up about this much of the viewfinder on an R2a

...and that's without the hood. Do you have the vented or the standard/supplied hood?

.

I bought this lens from Chase (Chaser) a while back and it performs well, really well. It is heavy and big for a RF lens but I look at it the same as the 50 Nockton, if you need 1.2 in 35mm...it's the only one.

Todd,

That is what I love about RFF, it all stays in the family. That was my Nokton before Chaser's tenure with it :) Glad to see it has a great home.

Fantastic photos, as usual, Todd.

cheers

very cool, I love the fact the lens has a history here. I'll shoot it with pride and more often now!

Lenses and cameras all "stay in the family" for the most part - I have only gone "outside" once in a while.. when I can't get it "at home" I go see someone to get my fix.. hmm... sounds a bit clandestine no? :D

My 35mm f1.2 I got for $699 CDN - so I consider it a good deal considering it was "like new" :)

If I ever do get rid of it (which I doubt.. it's got a home on the M2) it'll be to the folks here at RFF :D

Todd.. I'm always amazed by your shots.. man.. you do give good photo ;)

Took the words right out of my mouth, Dave.

I think Todd can get great shots out of a coke bottle lens if necessary :)
