35 Summicron prices are now officially "insane"

Leica M 35mm summicron IV is the first Leica M lens I owned. I purchased it brand new from Tamarkin in June '97. About that time 35/2.0 ASPH was released. At first I was upset that the sales rep. at Tamarkin did not inform the realease of the new version. Now I really like it because of its smallness and stunning photos it produced.

I had to rub my eyes and look twice.

Tony Rose just sold a pre-asph 35 Summicron (The "bokeh-king!" ) for a cool $1,557. (That was the asking price, at least. Let's hope the buyer haggled. A lot.)

Un-freakin'-believable.

I confess I just paid more for the one on the way (boxed, cards, caps, shade, and nearly new). C'est la vie.
