My M5s need red dots!
Nice little lens... I can perceive the texture on the columns... Impressive little lens. No wonder I've read so many good omments about these lenses! I would like to have one some day.
But not now... I just can't.

Richard,
Nice pictures. I assume you own both. Other than speed, how do they compare?

Almost all of it is 2.8 35 Summaron. Of all the 35's I've tried it's still my favorite lens. I have a 50mm Summicron that I also bought at the same time with my M4 in 1967. The 50 has seen only two rolls through it. It's still brand new! I like what it can do, but it isn't as light or small and the Summaron which has the 'glow', is sharp with good contrast, has the best bokeh, and is what my eye judges as a proper normal lens.

I seriously want one. Unfortunately, the collectors love them too, so the prices for decent ones tend to be way high.Justin Viiret said:...You should include the rarer 28/5.6 (I think) as well -- anyone here got one?...

Even the Hektor 28/6.3's go for >$600USD......wonder how either 28's measure up.
BTW, both bugeyed 35mm Summarons for M3's are a bargain on epay.....($200-$400). The 35mm 8-element bugeyed 'crons go for c.$750-$1000, while the M2/M4 versions without bugeyes go for $1500-$2500, highly desireable.

In the 70's when we moved to Vancouver - I worked for a couple of years close to Chinatown. Across the street was "The Chinese Times" and they used to paste up the paper in the window at 10 am. Popular pastime among the locals was to stand there and read it (and discuss it).

beautiful shots all. This is one of the few shots that I know off the top of my head that I shot with the 35 f3.5. I really just need to go out with that one lens and do a bunch of shooting. I'm much more of a 50 and up kind of guy.
