It came in today. I had no time to shoot but did some in the house. The glass just looks high end. It reminds me when I first pick up a 90mm R Leica. The glass just looks pure. I think Fuji is going to give others a run for their money in the quality area.

Nice! I really like mine. I only wish the front of the lens didn't move around during focusing.

Really a great lens. It's the only one I have (so far?) for the XE1. The XE1 kits sold here came with 1.4/35mm lenses only.

Huge fan of this lens. It makes me never want to spend more than $600 for a lens ever again.

No, people just get excited when they get something new they've been waiting for.

I think maybe it goes beyond this. It's not just receiving something you've been waiting for, but having that product dramatically exceed you're expectations. There is something special about this system, for those who it fits well. I've had to restrain myself several times from being over the top enthusiastic about my XPro kit. And the more I learn and use it, the better it gets. ;-)

I know exactly how you feel. The Leica snobs look down on it though... (jokes).

That's ok, I'm used to that. I shot with the (lowly, not really a) Leica R system for nearly 25 years. I'm used to being treated like the red headed step daughter up in the attic. ;-)

Ha!
I think the saddest thing about "Leica Snobs" is that I see people throwing what seems like endless amounts of money into their gear but all they do is take pictures of their cat and/or partner with it. Seems like such a waste.

No point in having good gear if you're never gunna use it.

Anywho, I really do love Fuji's sensor. It may be my all time favorite....ever.
I haven't gotten a chance to use the lens mentioned in this thread yet...but I've seen enough proof to show it's quality.

I'm on my way to pick up the 14/2.8. I've been waiting for this lens for months now. I hope it is as well done as the 35/1.4.

I think for us in South East Asia, the 1.4/35mm is the standard kit lens.

In Bangkok the kits come with the 18-55 (for the x-e1) but I really have no interest in that lens. My best friend just went back to Japan for a couple of weeks and snagged me a black x-e1 body only for 24,000 THB!!! So I'm impatiently awaiting him to return with it on the 1st of feb.

Congrats on the xe1. To bad in your area, the xe1 does not come in kit form w/ te 35f1.4, if I remember correctly, when the xe1 first released, Hong Kong and a couple of other places sold the xe1+35.

Congrats. This is a great lens.. Fuji has been making great lenses for a long time, it is great to finally c them get the recognition from a wider group of people.

Have fun with it
