The Leica Minilux (w/ fixed 40mm Summarit lens) is amazing. This was my first Leica camera, and the image quality blew me away like no camera had before or since. The Summarit lens is as good as anything Leica has made.

Don't be misled by the fact that people commonly use it for fun. I mean i know that You might look for something completly different, but it's not a toy really. The Lomo LC-A is not really an option for me as I don't want a toy camera

Oly Epic, small and good all-rounder. I always bring this with me everywhere I go.

So it turns out I wasn't the only one watching the Mju and it went up to $70 in the last 10 minutes. Crazy. So I guess I'll leave it at that for now and will keep watching the auction sites and local camera stores for good deals. After doing some research I guess my ideal p&s would be a Contax T3 but that's quite a big chunk of money.
I'm in no way related to the seller, but there is someone in the Member's Classifieds here on the site with a couple Stylus' (MJU 1) for pretty cheap ($30 shipped), this is a great little camera as well.

Oly Epic. Probably the best $8 I ever spent on photography.

Basically there are four factors I'm taking into account. They are price, quality, size and looks. I don't want to spend much because, well, I'm not rich and there more important things than cameras. I want decent quality because if the camera's crap I won't even bother using it. I'm not a big fan of 35mm film to begin with so I definitely don't want a crappy 35mm camera. Also, I shoot mostly color neg film so color rendition is a big factor.
Then, of course, there's size. If it's too big I might aswell take my Bessa III.
Last but not least there's looks. Sure, it's the least important factor but if I'm going to carry the camera everywhere it has to comply with my general fashion sense

Please - once you get the camera and use it a bit - let us know how it is. It is nearly impossible to find anything about it on the web (in English at least) - not even the full specifications.
I would love to learn more about the Fuji Natura 28-50 too.
Will do, it's intended to be my camera to take places where I don't want to risk my ZI. I'm hoping some 1600 ISO Superia in this camera will be great camera for in bars/restaurants where the Sigma DP-1 is not quick enough for low light.
I read somewhere recently that Fujifilm is considering the release of the Klasse in western markets, after the success of the GF670, would be excellent news if that happens.

Matus, I've posted a quick run down of the Klasse in P&S forum, I'll post more once I've used it more...

I have a Yashica T4 and I love it.
I would never pay more than £50 to buy a plastic compact - even with a zeiss tessar on it - but I got mine got £7 and I am very pleased with the results.

Another vote for the Nikon L35AF. I've recommended it in this forum before, actually. Does service as my one-handed camera of choice and my only non-SLR wide lens.
Mine was $5 at a yard sale, complete with manual and a Hoya skylight filter.
I totally agree, this kind of camera only makes sense if you absolutely don't mind it getting lost or beat up.
In the size and looks department, it doesn't win any prizes, but that's because it uses regular AA batteries. Which overall is a plus IMO.
I'll see if I can get some scans together.

I decided and ordered -yesterday- my very expected point and shoot:
Olympus XA, 70 bucks.
Some cameras recommended here are not a real point and shoot... XA is at f/8!
Cheers,
Juan.

I was also looking for a film p&S and was able to get a reasonably good online deal on a Nikon 35TI. I'm hoping to take delivery this week, and will be putting it to good use this weekend.

Some say it's the best point and shoot ever, both for its metering and autofocus accuracy...

That's what I've heard as well, which makes me really glad that this deal came up.

Quality vs Quantity
I just paid $80 for a near mint black Stylus Epic and it died after using it once.
They are too expensive after everyone raves about them. Now I'm left pondering what to do next. I wish I hadn't bought it and used the money towards something better like Contax T2 or Nikon 35ti. Better to save and buy one really good P&S rather than a couple of old over priced plastic cameras?

Considering many people have owned and used these cameras without issue for years and years I'd say that's anomalous to the one you bought. You can get a dud in any camera model, although I agree with you that $80 is steep for that camera in any case. You should really be able to track one down for less than $50.
