35mm lens works in G1, but not in G2

Hi, I'm wondering if this is s a common problem: I have a G1 body and a G2 body. 90mm and 35mm lenses. The 90mm works fine for both bodies, but the 35mm will not engage on the g2 body. I had a 28mm lens that also worked fine on both bodies, until I droppped it...
Has anyone heard about this being a problem? If not, can anyone recomend a good repair shop in NYC?
The G1 has the green sticker, in case that matters.

Are you sure it's not the reverse way?
The original (silver label) G1 model does not take the 35mm lens. Only modified G1, with green label, will take the 35. All G2 are supposed to take this lens (launched with this model).

That is the way I read online ... G2 and G1 green label takes the 35mm lens.

Well, I have G1(Green Label) & G2 bodies; I also have a 35mm lens. The 35mm lens fits and works on both bodies and that is just as it should be. Maybe there is a problem with the lens or body?

Yes, there seems to be a problem with the lens or with the G2.

yes, it's the g2 that wont engage with the lens, which is what's odd. is there a sort of troubleshooting checklist common to these cameras (cleaning the contacts, etc.)?
the odd part, again, is that the 35 works on the g1 body, and the g2 body works fine with the 90, so neither one is obviously faulty! bizarre.
