One difference is the speed: in 35mm, there are faster lenses available, including the mighty CV35/1.2.

Interesting conversation so far....
I say, the narrower the better....
If you have a wide angle lens on, and it takes in too much, you need a narrower angle lens... I say a 50mm is better than a 35mm.
It's better to start wide and get narrower if you need it.

I have the 24, 28 & 35 and most of the times I'll not use the 28...the 24 will come out if the 35 doesn't work for the shot...I do love that 35 though...
