hi,

Im having trouble getting a filter that would fit my pre-asph lux', I dont know what size it is, there are no markings on the lens itself. I want to use my lens without the lens hood-filter holder and put a filter on the lens instead to enable me to shoot compact...

is it possible?

I think up to 2166700 it's E41; afterwards the lens has no threads and takes Series 7
put into the hood (12504).

Roland.

I've tried the E41 filters I have for my 50mm f/1.5 Summarit (the original Summarit, not the new marketing brain-f@rt); that's a no-go. I also tried the 40.5mm filters, and that won't go in either. So what ferider said is correct.

If you have a Series 7 filter with the original hood, you could put a 39mm 486 filter on the lens, and have the filter/hood hold it in, if you have an M8.

Otherwise, if you don't have the hood, and I've considered this, you may want to use some teflon tape to pad enough around the edges and have it snuggly fit. But I'd rather come up with a more "secure" solution.

Im wondering the same thing as buckago

what it exact diameter of threads? I could see that this lens has threads but it seems so that it is placed so lowly that the filter might get contact with front glass.

How about making custom adapters for 35lux preasph to fit standard filters?

I recently measured this thread. Its diameter is about 40mm though some say there aren't any threads of the objective. So we have to find a solution for 39mm/40.5mm filter to fit in,........... hmmm

Gabriel, how tight is the 40.5mm filter on the lens?
