While on vacation a couple weeks ago, I noticed my focus tab on my 35mm f/1.4 was wobbly. I was afraid it might fall off, but it didn't seem to be becoming any more loose, so I continued to use it for another week without it falling off.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I read some old posts about it, but there wasn't much info.

Yeah, mine came loose and then I tightened it.

here's the thread where I mentioned how I fixed it

...unless you're asking if it gets wobbly and doesn't fall off, I dunno about that.

Thanks. I was asking if it'd be fine if it's just wobbly, but fixing it would be a better option to be honest.. hehe.
I actually saw that thread earlier. There was a link in the thread that was supposed to go to an image of it taken apart, but the photo doesn't seem to be there.

Seems pretty straightforward from your description. Since you've done it. Is there any alignment issues i'd need to look out for when putting things back together?

Just yesterday, I disassembled and re-lubed an old pre-ai nikkor lens. I had some issues because I forgot to mark the helicoids, but eventually got it back together. Anything like that to worry about? If not, I may try to fix it sometime this week.

no, I don't think there's any alignment issues. The most sketchy part is removing the rear element; you don't take the helicoids apart. as far as I recall it's pretty straightforward.

cheers.
