Are there any 35mm rangefinder cameras that are as easy to view and focus with that compare to the Mamiya 7 ? I've got a Yashica GSN and Minolta Hi-Matic E with clean and clear viewfinders, but definitely not up
to the Mamiya 7 with the standard 80mm lens. I'm sure anyone with the Mamiya 7 knows of what I speak. Peter

I would rate my Zeiss Ikon ahead of my Mamiya 7 in view capability and rate the focus capability even (they both work well)

edit: I read here where a few members have problems with the ZI finder. I cannot relate as all 3 ZI bodies I have owned have been superb for my viewing. Maybe I am just someone who avoids problems.

The viewfinders of my MP and M4-P are WAY better than the 7 II that I used to shoot with. In my experience, both beat the 7 II hands down.

The Mam7 is interesting because it is polarized. (I think) And slightly tinted.
My M6 with MP finder upgrade is bigger and brighter. The VF patch is a bit wider as well.

Haven't used a Mamiya 7 but have two 7II's. Both my M6 and M4-P have brighter finders so nicer in lowlight and indoors but the Mamiya lenses are f4 anyways so not ideal for this situation. Outside in daylight I think both the Leica and Mamiya finders are excellent. Only real disadvantage I see with any of them is that I can't watch television through the Mamiyas in horizontal orientation due to the polarization or whatever.

Well, I just took the liberty of checking the prices of some of the Leica cameras selected and ohhhh boy, are those little babies valuable!! If I sold most of what I have, I
could bid on a body that looks like it was dragged behind a truck. I'm believing I'd have to see one up close and personal to get that kinda GAS. Peter
