35mm summilux aspherical flares

My 35mm summilux aspherical (2nd version) is fine 90% of the time, but flares with light coming at the lens semi-directly. Is this a characteristic of this type of lens, or just my copy? I can't take off the front filter as I need the UV/IR because of the M8.2 body its on. At least I can see when it happens now, (on the LCD).

My lens handles flare quite well. Which brand filter do you use and can you post a sample pic?

Not characteristic.

You can remove your filter for the purpose of tests to determine if the filter is to blame.

Always stop down a bit to get a better flare control
