Here is a quick glimpse of the 3D printed hood prototype I have created for the Leica 21mm Super Angulon f4 lens. After a long hiatus, I have had some time to work on this project again. I actually bought a IWKOO to model my version of the hood. I will list the original on the classified section of RFF when I am done with the project as well as an offer to print copies of the 3d hood for others as well.
I have some more changes to the overall design to make, but I think I am about 95 percent there.
I will provide some more images and details when the modeling is completed in the next few days. Rather than the complicated spring and clip system of the original, I am using the friction ring securing method used on the Barnack Leicas and the Canon RF's used for securing the hoods and filters.
