3rd party lens shade for Summarit M 35

Hi

Are there any available 3rd party shades for the Summarit? I find the Leica shade quite expensive.

Also, to the summarit 35 owners, do i actually need a shade? I heard the lens controls flare well. I don't want to spend extra if the lens is flare resistant (like the biogon c)

Search or 39mm lens hood on ebay. Heavystar in California sell one for abou $10 and it'll do the job. If you need extra protection from sidelit sun/light, use your hand ;-)

Its more for protection so the front element doesn't get knocked around too much

I got the S&W hood sold by heavy star. It is very well made and very lightweight. Thanks so much for the advice. I really do not regret buying this over the Leica shade.

Heavystar is also a good seller. No problems at all.
