in today's mail, received in what must be record time, from al kaplan in florida, was a 40.5 to series vi adapter (tiffen).
it's not pretty but she cleaned up well with some 'goo gone' and my series stuff fit well and now i have another option for the russian lenses.

the good news is the adapter fits like a glove.
the bad news is, it's frozen on and won't come off.
makes a nice little lens hood now, all by itself.
