400 pushed to 3200

I just recently pushed a Neopan 400 to 3200 on D76, next I will try to push it to 12,000.

Well done. I haven't pushed film like that in many years. I look forward to seeing photos at 12,000. Two stops doesn't sound like much, but it is. I think the most I have seen is 6400, and that was with 4x5.

Very nice, I would like to know those timings too. I have never used Neopan 400 (I use 1600) but these shots look fantastic.

As posted before, one thing is real printing with an enlarger, and other thing scanning underexposed negatives to make use of photoshop for poor tonal results and digital printing.

For the first case, 1600-3200 looks like the real limit. For scanning, you can use an almost totally blank negative and get "an image".

sorry, tried both, it is the opposite

and my neg weren't underexposed 😉

and I am not the only one on the web who did 12500 iso 😉 it works, the neg is enought exposed but the final image is quite "soft"

No one thinks you're a liar, but some of us think there's better final printing quality when more photons reach silver.

But pushing or scanning and digital printing, or digital shooting are other options too.

I use my film from 200 to 800 usually

To say it in other way:

If any film could give great results for printing being shot at ISO 12500, that company would have it boxed and labeled as something like "Kodak 25000 film".

I checked your photos. Very nice. As to sometimes being useful, that is indeed so. First of all, there are times when artistic results can be pleasing and couldn't have been acquired any other way. Also, I used to work as an investigator. Often, pushing was the only way to get the shots needed.

I don't speak French, but did I understand you used Rodinal at a 1% solution for 4 hours without agitation?

Two gross underexposures... Critical ones, because of the presence of skin. Treat them digitally... (I won't talk about aesthetics..)

For those cases, a digital camera makes a lot more sense, honestly.
