i have read in a few places where people are buying used xe-1 bodies…for $400.!!!

can anyone point me in their direction?

Ive been window shopping for one for a few weeks, best price Ive seen so far is $450US on fujix forums. It sold about a week ago and was up for a few days. I have seen a lot of them for less than $500US all over the interwebz, most in fact.

There's currently a used XE-1 in my local forum ad selling for $500 Singapore Dollars, which works out to about USD$400. Comes with box and a 8GB SD card too.

The major American camera vendors and Amazon dropped the prices to $599 on black friday. Let's see if they go lower today, purple Monday or whatever it's called.

things are cheaper on the HK second hand (local) market. it's getting to around 350+ USD used for a X-e1. i bought mine a couple of weeks ago for 370 USD with the OEM case, extra battery, and all peripherals. it looked mint and with only 200+ shutter clicks.

I bought one on ebay for $396 shipped the day before Thanksgiving. It's always good to bid around holidays. Not as much competition.

I happily paid ~$499USD about a month ago for a low mileage black body from the classifieds here. It was a second owner with a few accessories and the kit box in basically as-new condition. Remarkably, I completed the broken kit by buying the missing 18-55 kit lens from the original owner in the classifieds just last week!

Fuji S5 Pro DSLR of 2005/2006 cannot be found for less than $600 with less than 20k actuation and yet these two year old Fuji top of the line, high-ISO champs are starting to hit the $400 mark brand new.

this whole camera business has lost touch with users.

fm forum and fuji x forums has a bunch. They are not really selling well because of the xe2 and new lower pricing for new bodies, so I am sure if you ask the seller they may be willing. it is usually around $425 for silver and a tad higher for black

$420 black

poor fuij buyers actually. with all the discounts that came out, the 2nd hand prices are getting so battered. I think the pricing levels really should be at $500 or more, but you cant beat free market. I brought mine for $600 and just sold it for $400, less then a couple of months.

Important consumer electronics tip: Buy used if you plan to resell. Don't expect items to keep their value. Selling it after 1 or 2 years of fun use for $400 would have been better than buying new, trying it a few weeks, and selling out. Why buy and sell in a couple months? A new car depreciates the most the moment it's driven off the lot too.

well i agree with that whole heartly (never buying a new car again), however the $600 i paid was for a used Xe1. The Xe1 is barely 1 year into its product cycle. That is a lot of hurt for a used camera.

Being that Fuji's motto is to improve, I dont really understand their recent cut after cut on prices. No upgrade programs? Their cameras are great so why not hold the official prices for longer?

I wished they are smarter like Hassleblad, ever see a used digital back for hassleblad V? those things are like unicorns and Hasslebald brought them all with their buy back program and that translates to a much more stable value. Sames goes for Leica or apple, ever see a sale?

Anyway enough of a rent, if you are in market for some X-trans fun, the current XE1 are a great deal.

No kidding, I was looking for a phase one p25 in V mount a few months ago and just gave up. I found three for sale at anywhere from $5,000-9,000. And even the one I found at $5k had been sitting on a forum for weeks before finding a buyer. There are plenty of p25's for Mamiya or Hasselblad H mount that sell for $3,000-$6,000.
